Paypal Express for OSCommerce
Graith Internet
has developed developed a 3-click checkout for OSCommerce using Paypal Express - the first in the world.
You can buy it now.
All the other OSCommerce addons for Paypal implement it as a Payment method so even when you've got a Paypal account, you still
have to create an account on your OSCommerce store and the confirm several options before you finally get the order placed.
Each step is an opportunity for your customer to give up.
This is the first OSC checkout that does it in 3 clicks:
- Click on the Button on the Shopping cart page
- Click to login to Paypal
- Click to Pay
Here are the screenshots to prove it:
Does it use fixed rate shipping?
No. It offers the shipping options your OSCommerce store is configured with. When the customer logs in, your OSC store is asked for a price (invisibly)
for each shipping option. Only the ones that applies to this address are supplied.
What about Taxes?
It supplies the correct tax based on the country the customer is from, so if you ship internationally, your customer won't be charged tax.
I don't ship internationally. How does it cope?
If you don't ship to some countries, just don't have them in your list of countries on your OSC site and customers outside those countries won't be
charged and can't place an order.
Does my server need anything special to work?
It needs to run HTTPS/SSL and it needs CURL. If you see a little padlock when you click on "My Account" and if you can see CURL listed
on the Admin / Tools / Server Info page, it'll probably work.
What versions of OSCommerce are supported?
It was written to run on MS2 release 2 and has been made to work on some versions of CRE Loaded. It has been checked with CRE Loaded 6.4CE and it
supports downloaded products. It works on the unmodified OSC Max 2.0.15.
